To assist City of Prescott residents with creation of defensible space to reduce wildfire hazard potential, the Solid Waste Division will be offering free residential drop-off of yard waste, including limbs, branches, and shrubs from pruning or cutting, in June. Free drop-off will be available each Saturday in June (June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Transfer Station, 2800 Sundog Ranch Road.
Please weigh in your vehicle with the brush/slash being transported, by traveling through the fee booth upon arrival, and the vehicle only after depositing the material, the normal procedure. This will help the Solid Waste Division track the amount of material that is processed. Be prepared to show proof of residency at the fee booth in the form of a driver's license or utility bill, to assure that you are not charged the standard rate.
In order to assure a clean wood mulch product after processing, and to maintain our community's appearance, please observe the following rules:
- Do not bag the brush/slash
- Do not place trash in the brush/slash
- No processed wood products
- Contain and cover all loads during transport
Loads that contain contaminants will be charged full price as solid waste.
This event is for City of Prescott residential waste customers only. A fee will be charged to commercial haulers for disposing of brush/slash.
