National Library Week Events April 11-15

Kick Off National Library Week with your Celebrity READ Poster picture on Monday, April 11 from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Prescott Public Library

Ever wondered what it would be like to join a book club, but not sure you want to commit? During National Library Week, the Prescott Public Library (PPL) has a variety of book clubs to visit. You're invited to just drop in and see what they are all about. You can find all programs at the library at www.prescottlibrary.info. All week long, you're invited to stop by the Youth Services desk and make a button that tells your story – how has the library transformed you? While you're in the Youth Services area, stop and check out the display of bookmark contest entries. Plus, pick up one of the winning bookmarks to take home! A list of other exciting events follows.

Tuesday, April 12, 6 p.m. Meet Author Jenn McKinlay
New York Times bestselling author, Jenn McKinlay, will be here to talk about her newest cupcake mystery. The eighth in the series, Vanilla Beaned, tells of the Fairy Tale Cupcake Bakery crew's efforts to open their newest bakery in Las Vegas, but when their potential new location gets blown up, it is odds against their having a happy ending. McKinlay is also the author of the Library Lovers mystery series and the London Hat Shop mysteries.

Wednesday, April 13, 6 p.m. Mad Women Poets & Womansong
Chorale Mad Women Poets return for their 10th annual poetry round robin. They will be joined by the Womansong Chorale. Open microphone for poetry follows the program

Friday, April 15, 10:30 a.m. Pete the Cat at Preschool Storytime
30 minutes of stories, songs and fingerplays especially for children, ages 3-5, and their grownups followed by a special guest appearance from Pete the Cat! Bring your camera! Siblings are always welcome.

Saturday, April 16, 11 a.m. Pete the Cat at Family Storytime
Come to a special Pete the Cat storytime! In celebration of National Library Week we will read Pete the Cat books and get a visit from Pete the Cat himself! Fun for the whole family.

All National Library Week events are presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
