Prescott Explorers Bring Home Numerous Awards in Multi-State Competition

Members of the Prescott Police Department Explorer Post #778, students in age from 14-20, brought home several awards from a Tactical Competition in Chandler that tested their knowledge and understanding of the law enforcement profession.

Our Explorers competed against 56 other teams from four states in their knowledge of Incident Command System scenarios, downed officer rescues, crisis negotiations and other physical challenges. The competition is hosted annually by the Chandler Police Department to allow Explorer Posts from around the region to compete, and learn and foster positive relationships within the law enforcement community.

The Explorers work as a team year-round within the Prescott Police Department to volunteer with festivities, including parades, parking control and numerous community events throughout the year. They also see how officers complete various patrol duties and participate in ride alongs.

The Prescott Police Department team brought home the following awards:

Breaching: 5th place

Hogan's Alley: 5th place

Tactical emergency medicine: 3rd place

Sniper challenge: 2nd place

Hostage negotiations: 2nd place

Downed Officer Drill: 2nd place

Waterborne operations: 2nd place

Incident Command Systems: 1st place

The Prescott Police Department is very proud of our Explorer Post and its dedicated advisors.
