City of Prescott Continuously Operating Base Station (COBS)

This notice is being provided to all users of the City of Prescott COBS, also identified as “Mingo Base”.

The COBS provides real-time GPS (Global Positioning System) corrections via radio broadcast to GPS users within the City of Prescott.

Scheduled maintenance will be performed on the COBS June 6, 2018 beginning at 12 PM.

The purpose of the maintenance is to upgrade the GPS receiver firmware. The COBS is anticipated to be out of operation for approximately one hour. Should any technical difficulties arise and the outage is longer than expected, users will be notified on the City’s website.

Users of this City service should make other arrangements as necessary during this time to mitigate the outage while maintenance of the COBS is performed.
