Winter Storm February 1, 2016

The Street Maintenance Division is responding to the snow storm that began this morning. The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2016. Motorists are cautioned to be aware of hazardous driving conditions, especially above 5000 feet through the afternoon, with snow showers decreasing in intensity this evening. Total snow accumulation for Prescott is predicted to be 3-5 inches with higher amounts depending on your specific location.

Residents are reminded to plan extra time for travel and to use caution while driving. The storm is expected to be of short duration, with very cold temperatures predicted through the week, and icy conditions will be likely. Avoid unnecessary travel until the storm has passed. For your own safety, maintain a safe distance from snow plows while walking or driving and avoid distracting snow plow drivers.

Per City Code, property owners are responsible for snow removal on sidewalks adjacent to their property.
